Suncoast Center has been serving the residents of Pinellas County since 1944, remaining steadfast in our mission to strengthen, protect, and restore lives for a healthy community. At the forefront of this mission, Suncoast Center provides a full spectrum of services designed to meet the needs of individuals across all ages and address the entire range of behavioral health challenges. Implementing the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, we are committed to delivering integrated, trauma-informed and recovery oriented care that is both accessible and tailored to the unique needs of each person we serve.
Our services span the entire continuum of care, from early intervention and prevention programs for young children to specialized treatment for adults facing severe and persistent mental health conditions. We offer individual and group therapy, medication management, crisis intervention, and substance use treatment, all deeply rooted in trauma-informed practices that prioritize the dignity, safety, and well-being of every client. Our multidisciplinary team, including experts in early childhood development, mental illness, and substance use disorders, ensures that our care is informed by the latest research and best practices, delivered with the highest standards of compassion and respect.
In response to the evolving needs of our community, Suncoast Center has expanded its range of services to provide even more support to families and individuals. For families with children, we offer early childhood services, school-based services, in-home parenting support, and family therapy, all designed to strengthen family dynamics and promote healthy development. These expanded services also include specialized care for adolescents, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges with age-appropriate, trauma-informed interventions. For adults, we provide enhanced support for those managing complex mental health conditions, with a focus on recovery-oriented care that empowers individuals to reclaim their lives and thrive.
In addition to our core behavioral health services, our Sexual Assault Services team provides specialized support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault or abuse. Our trained staff offers immediate crisis intervention, medical advocacy, and emotional support, all delivered with a trauma-informed approach that honors each survivor’s journey toward healing.
Moreover, our outreach and educational programs include workshops, support groups, and community initiatives that address the broader social determinants of health, contributing to the creation of a more resilient and informed community.
By offering a full range of services that address every stage of life and every behavioral health challenge, and by expanding our offerings through the CCBHC model and trauma-informed care, we are fulfilling our commitment to leading the way in behavioral health and wellness. Our comprehensive, compassionate care is designed to support every member of our community in their journey toward a healthier, more vibrant future.

Every month we convene both behavioral health agencies and collaborative partners including schools, government entities, law enforcement representatives, to collaborate and inform on existing services and partnerships, and to identify and address areas for improvement and improved collaboration. The Zero Suicide Partners of Pinellas was initiated as a collective impact project of the Pinellas Behavioral Health System of Care Workgroup in 2017. It has been continuously led by Suncoast Center since its inception. The project first assisted agencies and providers to initiate a common suicide prevention screening and treatment care pathway that is evidence based within each agency site. The project has brought training and cross training across partners increasing understanding and collaboration. The project is now addressing outreach activities for outreach and calls to action that address prevention in keeping with SAMHSA’ National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, the CDC’s Preventing Suicide: Technical Package of Policy, Programs, and Practices; and the U.S Playbook to address Social Determinants of Health from the Domestic Policy Council Office of Science and Technology.
