Rape Crisis Center
There are many ways to get involved with the Suncoast Rape Crisis Center. You provide the time and we provide the training. Below please find a few common ways volunteers help.
Event Assistance: For someone who is seeking a low time commitment, look no further than assistance with Rape Crisis Center events. The Rape Crisis Center plans and attends events throughout the year as a way to spread awareness of sexual violence and to explain the free and confidential services we provide. You can help by volunteering your time at an event(s). Volunteer duties may include: assisting with setup, helping tear down or interaction with the crowd.
Volunteer Sexual Assault Victim Examination (SAVE) Advocate: For someone who is seeking a longer term commitment, the Rape Crisis Center also occasionally adds volunteer staff to their Sexual Assault Victim Examination team. This team provides advocacy and support for survivors during a forensic medical exam after a sexual assault.
All volunteers are subject to a local background check, Advocacy Core training certification and supervision by Suncoast Rape Crisis Center staff.
Monetary Donations: For someone who is not able to donate time but would rather make a financial contribution, you can make a one time or standing monetary donation to help us continue providing outstanding services to survivors.
